The Lake Washington Schools Foundation announced the recipients of 32 Reaching for Success grants totaling more than $83,000

AT&T recently donated $10,000 to the Lake Washington Schools Foundation to support expansion of its LINKS Mentoring Program with a pilot program for junior high and high school students.

The Lake Washington Schools Foundation has awarded more than $50,000 in grants to schools in the Lake Washington School District. Schools in Kirkland, Redmond, and Sammamish will use the grants to extend student learning opportunities in math, literacy and science, and to provide assistance for students with financial needs

Lake Washington Schools Foundation funds summer school for students at risk

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) offers a summer school program for elementary students but parents have to pay tuition for their students to attend. A grant of $63,000 from the Lake Washington Schools Foundation (LWSF) will enable 115 elementary students who are academically at risk and in financial need to attend Core Academic Summer School at no charge.
Local robotics teams shine at world championship

A team from the Exothermic Robotics Club, which meets at Redmond High School, took second place out of 395 robots in the high school competition and won the Science Division championship and the Build Award for excellence in robot construction at the recent VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas
