Importance of a Foundation
As an advocate for educational excellence, the LWSF raises funds, gathers resources and acts as a catalyst to involve the community in public education. Donations made to the Lake Washington Schools Foundation funds programs go beyond what tax revenues can support.

These funds help to continue and expand the traditions of excellence and innovation in the Lake Washington School District.

LWSD is the sixth largest district in Washington State. This school district serves over 24,000 students in Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. With the present economic climate, dwindling state funds and our continuing drive for school reform, the needs of our schools are great and ongoing. Foundations are becoming a vital source of funding to provide “the extras” – supplemental materials, enrichment activities and extra support for students to reach their potential.
