Building on SuccessA Legacy for Learning is a benefit luncheon held annually at Juanita High School in Kirkland. Several hundred business and community leaders gather to demonstrate their support of Lake Washington schools and students. Thank you! Your donation just made a huge difference for our students and our schools.. Together we raised $144,500 at the A Legacy for Learning luncheon this Wednesday. Our sincere appreciation to all of our guests for your generous contributions. With your help, this event funded critical programs for the Lake Washington Schools Foundation. Thank you! A special thank you to our guest speaker, Dr. Bonnie J. Dunbar, all the volunteers, students, and Sodexo staff that helped make this a successful event.

AXA Advisors Step out of the office to help in the classroom.Have you ever wondered what it would be like to help in a classroom? I think that many of us have a fear of stepping into a classroom. Do I have the background? Can I communicate with kids? Can I really help? How did the employees from AXA Advisors handle the day in the classroom?

LINKS Winter 2011 Newsletter"The work our staff and LINKS volunteers do is about the development of children into young adults. This development requires us to look within ourselves and think about what we have to offer that can help a student reach a higher level of achievement. It requires talented and energetic professionals who know when to encourage with vigor, and when to be extraordinary patience because that is what they need at the time. It requires wisdom and tenacity as well as compassion." - Dr. Chip Kimball, Superintendent Click here to read the current newsletter and learn more about the work done in the LINKS program.

Trustees for the Lake Washington Schools Foundation Vote To Endorse The February 2011 Levy Measure
December 9, 2010 - At a board meeting today the Trustees of the Lake Washington Schools Foundation voted in favor of endorsing the upcoming February 2011 Levy Measure.
The measure would pay for additions to house 250 students each at Eastlake and Redmond High Schools. It would also pay for a grades 6-12 school serving 675 students that would focus on Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics, or STEM. This will relieve immediate overcrowding at the high school level, as well as anticipated overcrowding at the middle school level in the near future.
